JD 844 (inv# 4285)

John Deere 844 (8row36-38” Cornhead) s/n 630730 1989 SOLD

This is a factory head, with an 8” auger tube, 4” flighting which shows some minimal rock damage. Row spacing set on 38”. The snapping rolls have built up & hard faced. Deck plates are straight, the gathering chains, drive & Idler sprockets are all in good repair. Contour Master Drive (telescoping power shafts are not included but are available) Sheet metal is in good condition, but starting to get thin in places.

JUST PAINTED to protect from the weather. EXCELLENT POLY, LOW ACRE local trade. This head and the NH 73-C Platform came from the same home. Both are VERY VERY well kept heads, Equipped with knife rolls and hydraulic deck plates.

This frame was built by Harv’s Farm Supply. It is built like the 2001 & newer frames with the 6 degree lower row unit angles. The row units used on this head were taken off of 893 corn heads. It is equipped with Heavy fluted rolls, and hydraulic adjustable deck plates. The head is set up for contour master drive. (TPS available but not included)

This head was traded in on a 12 row 30” head. The acreage use of this head is less than 3,000 acres. Head is painted and ready for the field.

s/n 651256 (1993 model) Head has been modified for a Cat Lexion Combine. Equipped with tapered rolls, which are in average condition. Standard stripper plates which are straight.  This head can be re-used on a JD combine as well.

40 series row units spaced 20” apart. On JD 894 ch frame that is trussed on the upper bar for additional strength. Currently has no poly on the head. Tapered rolls vary in condition. Std. Deck plates. Gathering chains vary in condition, but most have 50% or more stretch available.

 Factory Head Gathering belts are in very good condition. Bevel gears are in good shape. Rotary knives are bolt on section style, good condition. Stationary Knives are good shape. Roto Shoes for skids. The auger in this head had been damaged by a rock. The auger was removed, and a repair to the auger was made. The original 1-1/8” hex driver was replaced with the larger 1-3/8” driver. New flooring was also laid over the original flooring when the auger repair was made. Back drive shafts are set up for level land drive.
